Chris

From the novel entitled "Devoted Reality".

Chris represents one of those 'what if' moments. Essentially, would you have an affair if you knew 100 percent you wouldn't get caught and wouldn't see that person again? That's what this character ponders and does, but things don't always work out like we envision them to.

I wanted to write a love story about two people who aren't satisfied with their marriage and decide to have an affair knowing they wouldn't see each other again, only to be reunited on national TV in front of millions of viewers. I thought it would be interesting to see how they would not only handle the situation, but also fight their feelings in front of the camera.

Stuck on a "Big Brother" type of show, it was fun putting Chris and Tracy in awkward positions and I still find myself laughing at the things they had to overcome. I didn't want this to be a typical love story, but I did want these once coworkers to find each other after one night of passion. 

 

It may be a little unrealistic, grant it, but it speaks to how we see society with social media, reality shows, and affairs. It was really fun to read, and I would hope to see this one made into a movie one day.

 

 "If me and her would have met in different circumstances and all, who knows. Maybe my life would have been different. I mean, I can't complain because I have a wonderful wife right now, but sometimes fate is what it is. It's one of life's mysteries to wonder what could have happened. It wasn't just the sex we had that made it great. It was the emotion behind it, you know." Chris on the best sex he's ever had, other than his wife.
