Krysia

From the novel entitled "Danark".

Krysia is one of those characters that I loved writing because even I don’t know what to make of her. Most of her motives are her own, but she’s driven to show her father, Militia Leader Corrado, that she’s not a little girl anymore, and that she’s fully capable of leading the Militia into battle as well.

At 21 years of age, the beauty knows how to manipulate others into getting what she wants. Seeing that she’s not getting anywhere with her father, she sneaks onto the Danark team’s mission with her lover Sapphire, who only holds her tongue about it because of the love she has for Krysia. It’s uncertain if Krysia shares that sentiment, but she plays the role well which is why she’s such a fun character to write. If I had to guess, I believe she really does care for Sapphire, but the relationship may have started as just using her for her end goals.

The dynamic between her and Danark’s leader, Marlow, is an intriguing one. She’s attracted to him, but her intentions are truly unknown as with her history of sleeping with folks to manipulate them, you always second guess things. In the end, she reveals something to Marlow that may give the reader an idea about how she really feels about him, but again was there a reason for this? Only time will tell.

Finally, her hatred for AI Mecha is relevant and I always knew that She and Reiona were going to matter to each other. While their relationship was murky at best, I always knew that at the end of their journey, Krysia would have an underlying respect for the Mecha. I look forward to continuing Krysia’s story in the next book, and if what’s in my head translates to paper one day, look out!

"Hey, Reiona. Don’t ever be afraid of love. It’s what drives us. It’s what makes us who we are. You don’t have to understand it. Just embrace it, and let it fuel your actions. You’ll be fine.” Krysia to the AI Reiona about how to interpret love.
